According to the Sacramento Bee, in July 2024, former Sycamore Junior High School teacher, Michelle Christine Solis, was sentenced to four years in prison for having sex with her 14-year-old student in a classroom on the day of his graduation. The investigation began in 2023 when rumors circulated through the community about students having explicit photos of Solis. Solis worked as an educator for approximately 20 years.
Evidence obtained by Gridley police alleged that Solis “friended” the boy on social media, sent him messages and explicit photos of herself weeks before graduation, then sexually assaulted the student on graduation day.
