Entertainment Industry Sexual Assault Survivors to Speak on Industry Practices That Permit, Protect, and Profit From Predators
Highlight Recent Lawsuits Against Steven Tyler & Brian Warner (Marilyn Manson) Under New Laws
(Los Angeles, CA) – On Friday, February 3rd at 2:00 p.m. (PST), survivors, advocates, and attorneys will assemble and speak about the perils of abuse and cover-up within the entertainment industry. At this event, we will discuss the following:
WHAT:
- Survivors to share their personal experiences of abuse, trauma, and silencing by well-known and powerful people in the entertainment industry.
- Discuss oppressive practices such as non-disclosure agreements and settlements (NDAs) used to silence survivors and hinder the public from knowing the perils.
- Demand that the entertainment industry name the perpetrators and make changes to corporate governments to prevent future abuse.
- Bring awareness to new laws in California and New York that give survivors new opportunities for justice, including the California Adult Survivors Act.
