Dr. Reginald Archibald, Former Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Volunteer,  Identified in Hundreds of Lawsuits filed Under the New York Child Victims Act

Founded in 1894, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club offered recreational activities for youth as an effort to reduce the number of youth people involved in gang-related activity. While originally operating as a mission of the Madison Square church, in 1902 Madison Square Boys & Girls relocated and became an organization separate from the Madison Square church.

Madison Square Boys & Girls Club was sued in numerous cases under the New York Child Victims Act (NY CVA). The vast majority of the claims relate to the misconduct of the Dr. Reginald Archibald, a pediatric endocrinologist who was employed by Rockefeller University Hospital and volunteered as a physician at Madison Square Boys & Girls Club’s clubhouse, in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Madison Square Boys & Girls Club has been named as a defendant in lawsuits involving at least 149 plaintiffs, in which the majority of those lawsuits also name Dr. Archibald. Unfortunately, we believe it is highly likely there are more victims out there who have yet to come forward or take legal action.

If you were sexually abused while participating in activities at Madison Square Boys & Girls Club in New York, you can come forward and file a claim anonymously. Survivors of sexual abuse must file a lawsuit by November 10, 2022.

On June 30, 2022, Madison Square Boys and Girls Club, Inc. filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the Southern District of New York. The deadline, or bar date, to file a claim in the bankruptcy case is November 10, 2022. This means that survivors abused by an employee, or volunteer, at Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, only have until November 10, 2022 to take legal action.
