Centennial High School is a California Distinguished public school located in Corona, California. It is one of eight high schools in the Corona-Norco Unified School District and is the only high school in the district that provides the International Baccalaureate program of study.
In 2015, Summer Michelle Hansen, a former special education teacher, pleaded guilty to multiple sex-related charges and was sentenced to three years in prison. Hansen allegedly engaged in sex acts with five male students.
“I’m not a monster. I’ve made bad choices in life and for that I’m truly, truly sorry.” – Hansen said, sobbing in court.
One parent who was unhappy with the sentence said it was “a slap on the wrist” for Hansen but a “slap in the face” for the victims.

“You used your position to have access to young boys. You were a predator inside the gates…The anguish you have caused my son and the rest of the family has been unbearable.”
John Doe No. 3’s mother said the teacher violated the trust of parents and their sons and that she “will be praying that you will be taking responsibility for your actions and be repentant,”
