Magic & Monsters to Premiere at MSP International Film Festival

With great pride, we are thrilled to announce that Magic & Monsters will have its official world premiere at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival (MSPIFF) on April 7th and April 9th! This marks a significant milestone for the documentary, which has already garnered national recognition for its powerful storytelling and dedication to uncovering the truth.

Recently, Magic & Monsters was named runner-up for the prestigious Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film. This honor underscores the film’s historical and cultural importance. This documentary exposes the harrowing stories of child sexual abuse at the Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) in Minneapolis during the 1970s and 1980s. The film weaves survivor testimonies, archival footage, and legal insights to shed light on the lasting impact of these crimes and the ongoing fight for justice.

For decades, survivors of the abuse at CTC have sought accountability, and this documentary gives voice to their experiences, ensuring that history is not forgotten. The film’s premiere in Minneapolis—a city deeply connected to this story—makes this event particularly powerful. Survivors, advocates, and community members will be able to witness this landmark film together, engaging in critical conversations about the past and the path forward.
