Fr. James Stauber held several parish assignments in the Diocese of San Bernardino. In 1993, Fr. Stauber was placed on leave after being accused of sexually abusing a minor approximately 22 years prior in St. Louis, Missouri. After being placed on leave, Fr. Stauber purportedly resigned without admitting guilt. Fr. Stauber was included in the Diocese of San Bernardino’s list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse. Fr. Stauber’s whereabouts and whether he had access to children from approximately 1994 to his death in 2010 are unknown.
