Fr. Ernest E. Robinson was ordained in the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Fr. Robinson was accused of sexually abusing an altar boy in approximately 1980 while he was assigned to St. Francis of Assisi in Greenlawn, New York. The alleged abuse was reported to the Diocese the day it happened and multiple times thereafter. Fr. Robinson remained in ministry until 2006. On the day of the alleged abuse in 1980, Fr. Robinson purportedly admitted to the victim that he previously inappropriately touched the victim’s friends. In 2007, Fr. Robinson was convicted of sexually abusing a minor boy in Massachusetts in 2006. In 2003, a Suffolk County Grand Jury report relating to the Diocese of Rockville Centre’s handling of clergy sexual abuse allegations was released. According to media reports, the description of Priest K matches public allegations against Fr. Robinson. Fr. Robinson’s current whereabouts, status as a priest, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
