Fr. Robert Jeffers was ordained a Trappist priest. Following his ordination, he allegedly spent time in Rome studying canon law. In 1964, Fr. Jeffers was incardinated into the Archdiocese of New York. Fr. Jeffers is named on the Archdiocese of New York’s 2019 “List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims” under the subsection “[t]he following archdiocesan clergy have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.” In 2018, a report was made to the compensation program that Fr. Jeffers sexually abused a minor boy from approximately 1972 to 1977 when Fr. Jeffers worked at St. Augustine in Bronx, NY. Fr. Jeffers was reportedly removed from ministry. As of 2018, Fr. Jeffers was reportedly living in Manhattan, New York. Fr. Jeffers’ current whereabouts, and whether he has access to children, are unknown.
