Fr. Clement A. Hageman was ordained in the Diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas. In 1939, the Bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi was informed that Fr. Hageman allegedly sexually abused boys. Fr. Hageman was banished from the Diocese of Corpus Christi. Throughout his career as a priest, multiple allegations of sexual abuse of minor boys were reported and purportedly discussed amongst Diocesan officials. Fr. Hageman reportedly admitted to “playing” with boys to at least two Bishops. In 2005, the Diocese of Gallup included Fr. Hageman on its “List of clergy identified by the arizonaDiocese of Gallup as having credible allegations of sexual misconduct made against them.”
