Fr. Charles Gielow was ordained a Claretian priest. In 2004, the Diocese of Phoenix published a Community Notification Statement saying that the Claretian Missionaries had received an allegation accusing Fr. Gielow of sexual misconduct with a minor in the late 1970s. The details of the sexual abuse allegation, including where and when the abuse occurred, are unknown. Fr. Gielow is included on the Diocese of Phoenix’s list of “Names of priests of religious  communities who have served in the Diocese of Phoenix and have been laicized and/or removed from ministry by their communities due to sexual misconduct with a minor.”
