Fr. Harold Robert White

Notes: Fr. Harold White was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Denver. Prior to his ordination, Fr. White worked as Deacon at Holy Family in Denver, Colorado, where he allegedly sexually abused a young boy. The minor boy reported the abuse to a nun at the time, but was assaulted by the nun and told to never speak of the abuse again. Archdiocese internal documents reveal officials received reports in 1960 of Fr. White sexually abusing 4 boys. Purportedly, the Archdiocese was made aware of another allegation of child sexual abuse against Fr. White in 1961. Since 1961, multiple reports of Fr. White sexually abusing children have been submitted to the Archdiocese. In 1993, Fr. White reportedly left active ministry. At least 30 men and woman have filed civil lawsuits alleging child sexual abuse by Fr. White. Lawsuits filed in 2005 and 2006 resulted in a 2008 settlement, which included the release of Archdiocesan secret documents regarding Fr. White’s sexual abuse. Fr. White was included in the Colorado Attorney General’s Special Master’s Report on “Roman Catholic Clergy Sexual Abuse of Children in Colorado from 1950 to 2019.” Fr. White’s status as a priest, his whereabouts, and whether he had access to children from 1993 until his death in 2006 are unknown.
