Msgr. Patrick F. O’Dwyer is a native of Thurles, County Tipperary in Ireland. He was ordained for the Diocese of Los Angeles in 1924. Fr. O’Dwyer worked at St. Elizabeth when he allegedly sexually abused an individual in approximately 1959. Msgr. O’Dwyer has been named in at least one civil lawsuit. This Patrick O’Dwyer, who died on January 22, 1971, is not the Patrick O’Dwyer currently working in the Archdiocese, who has never been accused of molestation. Msgr. O’Dwyer was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors.
