Fr. Michael Nocita has been accused of sexual abuse by three women between approximately 1975 and 1985. Fr. Nocita was a deacon seminarian and worked at St. Bridget’s of Sweden in Van Nuys from approximately 1974 to 1976 when he allegedly sexually abused a 16 year-old-girl. Another allegation of abuse dating back to approximately 1980-1982 was reported to police in 1988. In 2012, Fr. Nocita was named in a sexual abuse lawsuit. He worked as a teacher at St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs when he allegedly sexually abused a 15 year-old-girl in approximately 1980. Fr. Nocita was placed on inactive leave in 1991, removed from ministry in 2000, and laicized in 2006. Fr. Nocita was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. As of 2014, it is believed Fr. Nocita was residing in Tarzana, CA. Fr. Nocita’s whereabouts and whether he has access to children are unknown.
