Notes: At least four survivors have come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Fr. John Sheahan, between approximately 1961 and 1965, while he worked at St. Bridget of Sweden in Van Nuys. Fr. Sheahan went on medical retirement in the 1970s after he underwent surgery for a brain tumor. Fr. Sheahan was named in a 2003 civil lawsuit. He was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Fr. Sheahan is believed to have died in 2015 and resided in Los Alamitos, CA prior to his death.
