Fr. Francisco Mateos was a Vincentian priest. He was ordained in Spain. Fr. Mateos has been accused of sexually abusing at least one child. In 2003, Fr. Mateos was named in a civil lawsuit alleging child sexual abuse while he was serving at Santa Isabel in approximately 1976 to 1979. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles investigated the claim and determined that there were no grounds to remove Fr. Mateos from ministry. Fr. Mateos was believed to be residing in Spain at some point before his death in 2018. Fr. Mateos was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors.
