According to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at least 13 survivors have come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Fr. Donald P. Roemer, also known as Father Pat, between approximately 1962 and 1981. Fr. Roemer is ranked #8 on the Archdiocese’s list of top 10 abusers. Fr. Roemer was arrested in 1981 on child sexual abuse charges. Court documents show that Fr. Roemer admitted to sexually abusing 30 children over an 11 year period. He was sentenced to two years in a state-run mental hospital, ten years’ probation, and had to register as a sex offender. Fr. Roemer has been named in at least three child sexual abuse lawsuits. He was laicized in 2006. Fr. Roemer was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. In 2010, Fr. Roemer may have been living in Anaheim, CA. Since 1986, Fr. Roemer’s status as a priest, his whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
