Charles A. Ribaudo: Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Charles A. Ribaudo

In 2002, Fr. Charles A. Ribaudo of the Diocese of Rockville Centre was placed on leave and subsequently retired following allegations he sexually abused a student. Fr. Ribaudo was the chaplain and counselor at Holy Trinity High School when he allegedly sexually abused a male student over a period of approximately three years. Another survivor reported he was sexually abused by Fr. Ribaudo in approximately the mid-1980s while he was a student at Sacred Heart in North Merrick, New York.

In 2002, a grand jury was convened to investigate the Diocese of Rockville Centre’s handling of clergy sexual abuse allegations. The Suffolk County Grand Jury’s description of Priest O matches public allegations of child sexual abuse against Fr. Ribaudo. The grand jury report reveals that Priest O admitted in therapy that he had abused “at least 12 boys” during his time at Holy Trinity High School.

Fr. Charles A. Ribaudo was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Rockville Centre on May 27, 1967 and worked at the following locations:

  • 1968-1970: St. Rose of Lima, Massapequa, NY
