Fr. John H. Duggan, S.J., was ordained a Jesuit priest and worked for approximately one year in the Diocese of
Albany. During a psychological evaluation in 1993, Fr. Duggan admitted to sexually abusing young children early in his
priesthood. Fr. Duggan was then reinstated, but was restricted to supervised ministry. In 1996, a survivor reported that
he was sexually abused by Fr. Duggan as a teenager in 1970s while Fr. Duggan worked in the Diocese of Scranton.
Fr. Duggan is named on the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s “List of Priests and Brothers Accused of Child Sexual Abuse,”
as well as the Diocese of Scranton’s 2018 “List of Individuals for Whom Allegations of Sexual Abuse of a Minor Have Been
Admitted, Established, or Determined to Be Credible.” It is believed that Fr. Duggan died in 2004.
