Msgr. Charles Coen is named on the Archdiocese of New York’s 2019 “List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims” under the subsection “[t]he following archdiocesan clergy have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.” In 2016, Msgr. Coen was accused of sexually abusing a minor boy between approximately 1977 and 1986. He was thereafter suspended and then removed from ministry. It is reported that Msgr. Coen still resides in New York City. Whether he has access to children is unknown.
