Fr. John Charles Keith has been accused of sexually abusing children in approximately 1972 and 1985. In 1993, Fr. Keith was sent to the St. Luke institute, an institution known for treating priests accused of child sexual abuse. In 2002, Fr. Keith was informed that he could no longer celebrate mass or present himself as a priest. He has been named in at least two civil lawsuits. Fr. Keith was included in the Diocese of San Diego’s list of priests where the Diocese has received a credible allegation involving sexual abuse of a minor. Fr. Keith’s whereabouts and whether he had access to children from 1991 until his death in 2003 are unknown.
