Robert Caldera : Accused of Sexual Misconduct With Minors

Robert Caldera has been identified in two lawsuits filed under the New York Child Victims Act accusing him of sexual abuse of minors. Caldera was the former Executive Director of the catholic youth organization for the Diocese of Brooklyn. Caldera had access to upwards of 20,000 minor athletes and 100 parishes in the Diocese of Brooklyn, creating massive risk for children in the Brooklyn and Queens area.

Plaintiff J.K. V. Archdiocese of New York; Diocese of Brooklyn et al 5.18.2021: The lawsuit alleges in approximately 1993, when Caldera was a youth basketball coach for Catholic Youth Organization located in the Diocese of Brooklyn, Caldera began sexually abusing a then ten-year-old minor. Caldera sexually abused the minor approximately twenty-four times over approximately four years, from 1993 to 1998. The abuse occurred at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.

Archdiocese of New York; Diocese of Brooklyn et al 5.27.2021: The lawsuit alleges In approximately 1995, when Caldera was a youth basketball coach for Catholic Youth Organization located in the Diocese of Brooklyn, Caldera began sexually abusing a then fifteen-year-old minor. Caldera sexually abused the minor approximately three times over approximately three years, from 1995 to 1998. The abuse occurred at St. Joseph Catholic Academy.
