Fr. Ronald Francis Burt was ordained a Paulist priest. In 1986, a mother reported to the Paulist Fathers that her son was sexually abused by Fr. Burt. Fr. Burt reportedly admitted to the abuse, was sent to treatment, and was removed from ministry. In 2019, the Paulist Fathers named Fr. Burt on the “List of Paulist Fathers with Credible Claims of Sexual Abuse of a Minor” in the section “Deceased and Former Paulist Fathers with Credible Claims.” According to this list, it was reported in 1986 and 2018 that Fr. Burt sexually abused a minor male between approximately 1973 and 1979, when Fr. Burt worked at Good Shepard in New York, New York. Fr. Burt’s status as a priest, whereabouts, and whether he had access to children from 1986 until his death in 1994 are unknown.
