Fr. Richard Brown was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Dallas. In 1993, he was accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl in 1981 at Holy Family in Irving, Texas. Investigators reportedly found in Fr. Brown’s personnel file that Fr. Brown admitted to assaulting a child in 1980 in Washington, D.C., and another child in 1987 in Irving, Texas. In the 1990s, Fr. Brown allegedly admitted to investigators that he sexual abused approximately 50 children during his tenure in the Diocese of Dallas. Fr. Brown reportedly lived and performed tasks at Trinity Retreat House in Larchmont, New York, within the Archdiocese of New York, in the 1990s and early 2000s. As of 2019, Fr. Brown was believed to be living in Pecos, New Mexico. Fr. Brown’s status as a priest and whether he has had access to children from 1995 to the present are unknown.
