Fr. John Albino was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of New York. A 2001 lawsuit alleged Fr. Albino sexually abused a minor boy from approximately 1996 to 1998 while he was working at St. Margaret Mary in the Bronx. According to the Archdiocese of New York, Fr. Albino was removed from ministry and laicized. Fr. Albino was named on the Archdiocese of New York’s 2019 “List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims” under the subsection “[t]he following archdiocesan clergy have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.” Fr. Albino’s whereabouts and whether he has had access to children from 2002 to the present are unknown.
