Minnesota Child Victims Act
In 2013, the State of Minnesota enacted the Child Victims Act – a new law that allows victims of child sexual abuse a three-year window to file a civil action—even if in the past you were told that because of a statute of limitations you could not. Keep in mind that this very unique window of opportunity for survivors of sexual abuse as a child to begin a journey of hope, healing and justice is only for three years and will expire on May 25, 2016. Because the Child Victims Act has a time limit, we suggest you allow adequate time to process your case.
