Hope, Healing, Help and Justice for Survivors of Sexual Abuse in Hawaii

On July 11, 2018 Jeff Anderson & Associates and the Law Office of Mark Gallagher released a new report containing the identities, histories and background information on dozens of priests and clerics accused of child sexual abuse in the Diocese of Honolulu. The report showed how high-ranking church officials knew that Bishop Joseph Ferrario had sexually molested children before he became a bishop and how Hawaii was a “dumping ground” for sexually abusive clerics from all over the world. Additionally, the former head of psychiatry at St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu, Dr. Robert Browne, treated sexually abusive clerics in Hawaii and also sexually abused dozens of young children from Kamehameha Schools who sought treatment with him. We encourage all sexual abuse survivors in Hawaii to come forward safely and confidentially.

Jeff Anderson & Associates have been handling claims for survivors of sexual abuse by clergy, teachers, counselors, troop leaders and others in positions of power in Hawaii for over 25 years. Along with Mark Gallagher, our Oahu-based affiliate, we are helping survivors take advantage of this unique and welcome opportunity to obtain justice. On July 10, 2018, the Hawaii legislature re-opened a retroactive window for survivors of sexual abuse in Hawaii to come forward and bring a claim against the perpetrator and the institution that harbored the offender. This window closed on April 24, 2020. But survivors of child sexual abuse in Hawaii still have rights.

Call us today and you can be assured that your privacy will be respected and your identity can always remain confidential as you go through this legal process to seek justice for yourself and accountability for those responsible for the harm you have suffered.

Please remember, you are not alone. The abuse you experienced is not your fault. Healing is possible.
