Fr. Fidencio Silva-Flores was a member of the Missionaries of Holy Spirit religious order. Fr. Silva-Flores has been accused by at least 28 people of child sexual abuse occurring between approximately 1979 and 1985. Fr. Silva-Flores has been named in at least 15 civil lawsuits alleging child sexual abuse. In approximately April 1995, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles received an allegation of inappropriate conduct by Fr. Silva-Flores. Fr. Silva-Flores was a native of Mexico and it is believed he was allowed to return to Mexico shortly after the Archdiocese received the allegation of misconduct against him in 1995. In 2002, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office filed 25 felony counts of child sexual abuse against Fr. Silva-Flores. Fr. Silva-Flores gained the trust of the families of his victims; Fr. Silva-Flores was a godfather and a confirmation sponsor to some of his sexual abuse victims. Fr. Silva-Flores was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Fr. Silva-Flores’ current whereabouts, his status as a priest, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
