Msgr. Manuel O. Sanchez was ordained in 1954 in Spain. He began work in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 1971 and was incardinated in 1976. At least one survivor has come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Msgr. Sanchez, from approximately 1978 to 1981, while he worked at Sacred Heart in Pomona. The Archdiocese investigated the claim and found the evidence did not support the charges. Msgr. Sanchez reportedly retired in 2000 and returned to Granada, Spain. He was named in a 2003 child sexual abuse lawsuit, which the Archdiocese of Los Angeles later settled. Msgr. Sanchez was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. As of 2016, it is believed Msgr. Sanchez was living in Rancho Palos Verde, CA. Msgr. Sanchez’s status as a priest, current whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
