According to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at least one survivor has come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Fr. Joseph F. Ryan, in approximately 1945. Fr. Ryan was moved almost yearly, sometimes twice in a year, and had several leaves of absence and sick leaves from 1945 through 1960. Fr. Ryan has been named in at least one civil lawsuit. Fr. Ryan was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors.
