B.R Leon Modesto, C.M.F: Accused of Sexual Misconduct With Minors

At least one survivor has come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Br. Modesto Leon, C.M.F., a member of the Claretian Order, from approximately 1995 to 1996. He was named in a 2008 civil lawsuit, which alleged that he sexually abused a boy from approximately 1996 to 1999 while on Soledad Enrichment Action retreats at Camp Unity in the Angeles National Forest. Br. Leon worked as Incorporating Executive Director for Soledad Enrichment Action until 2005 when he resigned. As of 2013, Br. Leon was believed to be living in Los Angeles. He was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Br. Leon’s clerical status, current whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
