In October 2002, Fr. Ronald P. Petroski of the Diocese of Brooklyn was named in a lawsuit brought by survivors of child sexual abuse. Fr. Petroski was working at St. Anastasia in Douglaston, New York, when he allegedly sexually abused a survivor in approximately 1975.
Fr. Ronald P. Petroski worked at St. Francis Xavier’s in Brooklyn, New York, from 1971 to 1975. He also worked at St. Anastasia in Douglaston, New York, from 1976 to 1979. The Diocese of Brooklyn placed Fr. Petroski on leave in 1980 and removed him from ministry in 1984. Fr. Petroski died on December 21, 1986.
