Harold T. Cox: Diocesan Clergy Accused of Sexual Misconduct With a Minor

In October 2003, Fr. Harold T. Cox was named in a class action lawsuit brought by survivors of child sexual abuse. The lawsuit alleged that Fr. Cox sexually abused a survivor from approximately 1956 until approximately 1958 or 1959, when the survivor was approximately eleven to fourteen years old.

Fr. Harold T. Cox was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Brooklyn on April 11, 1944. Fr. Cox worked at St. Joseph’s Church in Ronkonkoma, New York from 1944 to 1952; St. Gabriel’s Parish in New Lots, New York from 1957 to 1963; and St. Camillus Parish in Rockaway Beach, New York from 1964 to 1971.
