Edward C. Brennan: Diocesan Clergy Accused of Sexual Misconduct With a Minor

Fr. Edward Brennan was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Brooklyn. Fr. Brennan was reportedly placed on restriction in February 1999. Fr. Brennan was one of 12 priests named in a civil lawsuit filed in 2002 alleging sexual abuse of a minor girl while he worked at Good Shepherd in Marine Park, New York. Fr. Brennan was also named in a civil lawsuit filed in October 2003, alleging sexual abuse of two minor girls while he was working at Good Shepherd in Marine Park, New York. One victim was purportedly sexually abused from 1965 to 1969 and the other purportedly from 1967 to 1974. Fr. Brennan was named on the Diocese of Brooklyn’s 2019 “List of Diocesan Clergy for Whom the Diocese Received Allegations of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor,” in the subsection “Clergy Members of the Diocese of Brooklyn With Credible Allegations: Credibility Deemed by Diocesan Review Board Determination and/or Admission on Behalf of the Cleric.”
