Notes: Msgr. James Rasby was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Denver. Msgr. Rasby was the co-founder of Samaritan House with Fr. Woodrich. Msgr. Rasby was included in the Colorado Attorney General’s Special Master’s Report on “Roman Catholic Clergy Sexual Abuse of Children in Colorado from 1950 to 2019.” According to the Special Master’s Report, child sexual abuse allegations were made against Msgr. Rasby in 1975 and 1990. Msgr. Rasby held positions as Rector at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and as Pastor at St. Vincent de Paul when he allegedly sexually abused minor children. The Archdiocese of Denver allegedly did not report either child sexual abuse allegation to law enforcement.
After the second allegation was made to the Archdiocese in 1990, they purportedly required that Msgr. Rasby undergo a psychological evaluation. In 2003, Msgr. Rasby’s faculties were removed. Msgr. Rasby’s status as a priest, his whereabouts, and whether he had access to children from 1996 until his death in 2014 are unknown.
