Arthur Manzione

In August 2003, the Archdiocese of New York removed Deacon Arthur Manzione from his assignments as Associate Secretary for Education and part-time deacon at St. Anthony of Padua parish in West Harrison, New York, due to allegations of child sexual abuse. A survivor alleged that Manzione had sexually abused him in approximately the early 1980s when he was assigned to Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, New York.

Deacon Arthur Manzione was ordained in 1979 and spent 11 years as superintendent of the 55 Catholic elementary schools in Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York. He was the elementary school principal of Sacred Heart Parish in Newburgh, New York, in the early 1980s. He was promoted in 2002 to the archdiocese’s central education office.

Deacon Arthur Manzione was laicized in 2005.
