Charles Kavanagh: Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor

In 2002, Fr. Charles Kavanagh was accused of sexually abusing a high school student in the late 1970s at Cathedral Preparatory Seminary in Manhattan, New York. The Vatican held two church panels on the matter and Fr. Kavanagh was laicized in 2010. Fr. Kavanagh sued the survivor and the Archdiocese of New York for libel in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
