Raymond Hyland: Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor

In 2016, a survivor alleged that she had been sexually abused by Fr. Raymond Hyland of the Archdiocese of New York. The alleged abuse occurred in the early 1950s in the Bronx, New York, when the girl was approximately eleven to fourteen years old.

Fr. Raymond Hyland was ordained for the Archdiocese of New York in 1947. He was a parish priest throughout his career, assisting in Saugerties, the Bronx, Crestwood, and Middletown, New York, before becoming pastor in 1974 in Bangall. He was later assigned to a parish in Kingston in 1983. Fr. Hyland died on May 20, 1995.
