Gabriel Massaro

In 2002, Fr. Gabriel Massaro, O.F.M. Capuchin, was accused of child sexual abuse. Fr. Massaro allegedly sexually abused several young boys at the Order’s retreat house in Garrison, New York. One of the survivors, a man from Queens, said he was sexually abused at the retreat house in approximately 1986. Fr. Massaro was forced by the Diocese of Manchester to leave the rectory of Blessed Sacrament parish where he had been staying since 1999 following the allegations of child sexual abuse. He moved to a friary in Beacon, New York.

Fr. Gabriel Massaro was ordained a Capuchin Friar Order priest in 1966 and worked in the following locations:

  • 1988-1997: St. Francis Friary, Glenclyffe-Garrison, NY

    • 1995-1997: Preaching Ministry
  • 1997-1999: St. Pius X, Middletown, CT (In residence)
