Peter A. Allen

In 2003, survivors filed a civil lawsuit against the Diocese of Rockville Centre and several priests accused of child sexual abuse, including Fr. Eugene Vollmer. The civil complaint stated that Fr. Peter A. Allen knew or should have known that Fr. Vollmer sexually abused four boys while at St. Joseph’s in Ronkonkoma, New York. In December 2006, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office received a credible allegation of child sexual abuse against Fr. Allen. The Diocese of Rockville Centre placed Fr. Allen on administrative leave for an indeterminate length of time pending an investigation. Fr. Allen was working at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Mattituck, New York, when the allegation of child sexual abuse was made.
