In a secret 1994 memorandum from Msgr. William Lynn to Msgr. James Molloy regarding priests accused of sexual misconduct, Fr. Joseph W. Thomas was included in a list of priests with allegations of sexual misconduct with minors with no conclusive evidence. After the Archdiocese of Philadelphia revoked his priestly faculties in 1972, Fr. Thomas reportedly left the priesthood. His whereabouts from approximately 1977 until his believed death in 1996 are unknown.
