Fr. Thomas Barry Horne was ordained in the Archdiocese of Chicago sometime around 1930, though the exact ordination date is unknown. Following a leave of absence in the late 1940s, he was transferred to St. Peter Damian in Bartlett, Illinois, where it is alleged that he raped a 5-year-old girl in the church rectory while the girl’s mother practiced on the church’s organ. It was later reported that Fr. Horne also raped the girl’s sister. In 2011, two women filed a lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Chicago alleging abuse, including inappropriate touching and sharing sexual fantasies when one was 4 and the other was 6 years old. Fr. Horne retired in 1973 and died in 1985
