(Saint Paul, MN) – Hailed as a pioneer in the fight for the rights of survivors of child sexual abuse, Attorney Jeff Anderson was named one of the Fifty Distinguished Sexual and Gender Health Revolutionaries by the University of Minnesota Medical School Program of Human Sexuality.
According to the University of Minnesota, the award winners “are shaping the landscape of the sexual and gender health climate in the world. As scientists, activists, thought leaders, scholars, and writers, these incredible people have changed the way we think about sexual health.”
Anderson was selected from a field of international thought leaders, all of whom were nominated for their activism in sexual well-being and gender health. Other winners include former US Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders, MD.
“I am honored and humbled by the award,” said Anderson. “But the people who truly deserve an award for changing the world are the brave survivors we work with every day.”
“My first priority has always been healing. And in order for many survivors to heal, they need the light and heat of truth to expose what happened to them to ensure it doesn’t happen to another child. When that is the focus, the work becomes passion. And with that passion, we are changing the world,” he said.
