Br. Francis Jerome Burns was a member of the Xaverian Brothers. In 2019, Br. Burns was named in the Xaverian Brothers’ list of “Deceased or former Xaverian Brothers with a credible or established offense against a minor (anyone under the age of 18).” According to this list, multiple allegations of child sexual abuse were made involving Br. Burns beginning in 2003. The alleged sexual abuse spanned from the 1950s to 1970s, and reportedly occurred in Brooklyn, New York, and in Shrewsbury, Danvers, and Malden, Massachusetts.
