Fr. Cornelius Carr was a member of the Jesuit religious order. In 2006, the Jesuits investigated allegations involving allegations of child sexual abuse involving Fr. Carr. In 2018, a survivor came forward alleging Fr. Carr witnessed a janitor sexually abusing him at Jesuit High School in the late 1970s, and instead of stopping the abuse, Fr. Carr continued to watch and began masturbating. Fr. Carr was included on the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ “List of religious order priests who were serving in the Archdiocese of New Orleans at the time of the allegation” and the “USA Northeast Province Jesuits with Credible Allegations of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.”
