Father Kevin McDonough

Father Kevin McDonough was ordained in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis in 1980. As Chancellor and Vicar General from 1987-2008, McDonough was responsible for handling all matters pertaining to allegations of child sexual abuse in the Archdiocese. McDonough participated in compiling the information pertaining to clerics accused of child sexual abuse that was eventually submitted as part of the John Jay study in 2003.

In about 2003 McDonough began supervising the monitoring program for priests accused of misconduct. McDonough was in charge of monitoring clerics accused of sexually abusing minors including Father Jerome Kern, Father Curtis Wehmeyer, Father Michael Keating, and Father Michael Stevens.

McDonough was named in a civil lawsuit filed in 2014 on behalf of sexual abuse survivor Marie Mielke (Doe 20). The lawsuit seeks to hold McDonough accountable for his defamatory comments about Mielke and her experience with Father Michael Keating.

On April 16, 2014, McDonough was deposed in the Doe 1 case and was questioned extensively about his role in handling allegations of child sexual abuse.

Father Kevin McDonough is currently a pastor at St. Peter Claver in St. Paul and Incarnation/Sagrado Corazon in Minneapolis.
