Msgr. Delbert Blong was ordained in the Diocese of Pueblo. Msgr. Blong has been accused in a civil lawsuit of sexually abusing a boy for a 20-year period beginning when the boy was a minor and seeking counseling from Msgr. Blong in 1971. The survivor purportedly contracted the AIDS virus from Msgr. Blong. Msgr. Blong was included in the Colorado Attorney General’s Special Master’s Report on “Roman Catholic Clergy Sexual Abuse of Children in Colorado from 1950 to 2019.” According the Special Master’s Report, Msgr. Blong sexually abused at least six minor boys in the 1950s and the 1960s in La Junta and Alamosa, Colorado. Msgr. Blong was reportedly prohibited from celebrating mass and administering sacraments while remaining a priest. His status as a priest and whether he had access to children from 1992 until his death are unknown.
