Fr. James Taylor was a priest for less than two years when he was arrested in April 2014 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The authorities stated that, between October 2013 and April 2014, Taylor engaged in ongoing inappropriate conduct with a 15-year-old girl from Clifton Park, NY. The conduct is reported to have consisted of physical touching, telephone calls, text messages, and photos with the girl. In August 2014, Fr. Taylor pleaded guilty to one charge of child endangerment, a misdemeanor. Fr. Taylor is listed on the Diocese of Albany’s list of “Clergy Credibly Accused While Serving in the Diocese of Albany.” Fr. Taylor’s current status as a priest, his whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
