American Canyon High School is a public school located in American Canyon, California and is a part of the Napa Valley Unified School District. American Canyon was the first school in the nation to complete the certification process of the Collaborative for High Performance Schools, a green compliance standard.
In April of 2024, allegations of sexual abuse against a teacher came to light. Former American Canyon PE teacher and track coach, Brad Rowell, has been charged with 16 counts of lewd acts on a minor, six counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, two counts of oral copulation of a minor, and one count of possessing child pornography. Rowell has pleaded not guilty to the allegations. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for November 14, 2024.
Furthermore, the Principal at American Canyon High School has been charged with allegedly failing to make a mandated report of child molestation by a teacher, according to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office.
